Moran Alumnus Named Outstanding Young American


 

John A. Moran Eye Center graduate Michael Feilmeier, MD, was recently named a recipient of the United States Junior Chambers Ten Outstanding Young Americans award. Feilmeier completed a in 2010 at Moran.

"Every year, the United States Junior Chamber recognizes the accomplishments of ten individuals who are truly outstanding, and 2015 is no different. They are truly accomplished in their fields, in giving back to their communities, and in promoting that service to humanity is the best work of life," said Jennifer Ray, 95th President of the US Jaycees. "They represent the best of the best and we should strive to emulate them in our everyday actions."

Dr. Feilmeier is currently the Medical Director of the International Division of Ophthalmology at the 亚洲自慰视频 of Nebraska Medical Center. He has provided eye care and trained eye surgeons in Haiti, India, Nepal, Ghana, and the Dominican Republic. Locally, Dr. Feilmeier provides free health care services to the patients at One World 亚洲自慰视频 Center and Sharing Clinic in Omaha.

The Ten Outstanding Young Americans program (TOYA) is one of the oldest and most prestigious recognition programs in America. Annually since 1938, The United States Jaycees has sought out the ten young men and women (under the age of 40) who best exemplify the finest attributes of America's youthful achievers. Previous honorees include Bill Clinton (1979), John F. Kennedy (1946), Dick Cheney (1976), Kurt Warner (2010), Wayne Newton (1977), Gale Sayers (1969), Elvis Presley (1970), Michele Tafoya (2001), and Ruth Riley (2014).
