    Bushra: Ready, and go.

Margaux: Ready? Hey, Margaux here. This is the preview episode for the Bundle Of Hers. We just wanted to give you a little brief summary of our first year and what we're doing for the summer.

So I thought medical school was way harder than I anticipated. But you know what? We came out on the positive end because we just got the email that we all passed our cumulative end-of-year exam.

    Bushra: Woo! We did it.

Margaux: So we are officially second-years, and it feels great. This summer, I'm doing some research. I'm also getting married, and I'm going to Italy and Croatia.

Bushra: He put a ring on it, guys.

Margaux: He did. That's true. So I'll be traveling and doing some research this summer. Bushra, what are you doing this summer?

Bushra: Well, I will be off in Kenya for the summer and just traveling, visiting family. I have a lot of family there. Hopefully, my Swahili will be a lot better, and my mom won't be embarrassed in me when I come back. But you know what? It's technically her fault. She only spoke to me in Somali, so I don't know Swahili as much.

    Margaux: Fair.

Bushra: But I plan to enjoy my summer. No research in the summer. I figured I did enough over the year that I can take the summer off. But, yeah, first year was intense, in a bad way and in a good way, because in the beginning, I had no idea how to study for med school. But you know what? Nine months later, I finally figured it out, guys, and I passed. So I guess that's a good thing too. But you know what? I couldn't have done it without you guys, you guys.

    Harjit: I know.

Bushra: It's been a rough ride, but I'm glad I was with you guys throughout the whole entire thing. So next step is Leen.

Leen: Hey, guys. So I'm going to be going to the West Bank this summer to gather research . . . to gather research, yeah, to gather samples for my research in a thalassemia clinic, as well as working in a thalassemia clinic.

My thoughts of first year? It's like one big memory of sitting at a desk. I don't even remember any specific days, and now I have a phobia of iPads. It's just great.

    Margaux: That's fair.

    Harjit: The fear is real.

Bushra: She had a couple of malfunctions with her iPad. I'm convinced that it's possessed.

Leen: Your iPad will shut down. Your computers will shut down.

    Bushra: Bring an extra charger.

Leen: Bring a great keyboard. Bring an extra charger. Oh, yeah. Go, Harjit.

Harjit: Okay. I guess it's my turn now. My first year of medical school, where do I even begin? I was pretty much surviving, but I made it through, and I survived. I'm going to be a second-year medical student.

Reflections on my first year? It was tough, but I think it was important for me to find a good support system, which I think I've successfully found. So if that was my biggest goal, I think I passed with flying colors. I found an amazing group of women who support me and support my goals.

And then also, another thing that I really, really learned is it's okay to fail sometimes because that's the only way you're going to grow.

What I'm doing this summer is . . . actually, I made no plans for the summer because I was so nervous if I'd even pass my first year. So I've just been jambling to make last-minute plans. I'm going to go visit my sister in Pittsburgh, and then me and her are going to go visit my other sister in Connecticut. She's graduating from her residency, so that should be fun.

Bushra: She's a U of U alum, by the way, her sister.

Harjit: Yes. She is the first person to go to medical school in my entire extended family, so she's going to be also the first person to graduate from residency. And then, also I plan on going to India just to chill out for a minute. And then, coming back here, attending Margaux's wedding, and then having a fun end of July. You know, it's my last summer off.

So I want to thank everyone for listening. We are the Bundle Of Hers.
