In 1995, the Huntsman family started Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) to ensure the future of cutting-edge research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Huntsman Cancer Institute is the region’s only National Cancer Institute–Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and cancer specialty hospital. It is not owned by the Huntsman family, but rather is a gift to the citizens of Utah and beyond, and 100% owned by the state of Utah. In 2005, Huntsman Cancer Institute was named the official cancer center of the state of Utah.

HCF's sole purpose is to raise funds to support the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute and is dedicated to ensuring excellence in these endeavors through the development and prudent stewardship of private resources. All Huntsman Cancer Institute fundraising initiatives happen through HCF, which is a public, functionally integrated, Type III 501(c)(3) organization.

Get Involved

One family cannot do it alone, which is why HCF relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and community groups. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Huntsman Family, 100% of your donation(s) further the treatment, education, and research being conducted at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

HCF offers a variety of ways for individuals and organizations to support cancer research.

"No exercise is better for the human heart than reaching down to lift another up."

Make a Donation

Individuals and organizations can contribute to cancer research by making a donation. Donations can be designated to support the areas of greatest need, a grateful patient or family, or a specific cancer type.

Events

Through our Huntsman Heroes program, individuals and teams run, walk, ride, and fundraise while participating in events from 5Ks and marathons to 140-mile bike rides. Other events include the Annual Gala and various community partner events held throughout the year.

Other Ways to Give

HCF offers a variety of giving opportunities:

  • Donate a car, boat, or RV
  • Purchase the Huntsman Cancer Institute awareness license plate
  • Participate in employee giving programs at your place of work
  • Give through stock, property, or estate plans

How to Volunteer

The many HCF events wouldn't be possible without our amazing volunteers! We welcome people who can share their time and energy with us. As a volunteer, you're helping to fund the lifesaving work at Huntsman Cancer Institute. If you're interested in joining our outstanding community of volunteers, please contact us.

Donor Recognition

In addition to a letter of thanks, individuals and organizations who give in support of the work of Huntsman Cancer Institute can also be recognized in a variety of ways. Recognition on permanent, prominently displayed donor scrolls placed in Huntsman Cancer Institute and hospital begins at $2,500.

Named Spaces

HCF gives donors the opportunity to name any available room or facility at Huntsman Cancer Institute to honor their loved ones—or even themselves. Naming opportunities start at $10,000 and go up progressively from there.
