Counseling for Heart-Related Conditions Postpartum
Some pregnancy complications can cause you to have recurring problems in future pregnancies and possibly heart disease and stroke later on in life. These pregnancy complications include:
- hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (such as preeclampsia),
- gestational diabetes, and
- others.
In many cases, there are ways to reduce the long-term risks associated with these conditions.
Hours & Location
Our clinic is open on Friday afternoons in the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of Utah Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic.
Personalized Counseling
Our providers give personalized counseling based on your pregnancy history at our consult clinic. If you have experienced pregnancy complications, you can reduce your risk with our program counseling for recurrent pregnancy complications and for cardiovascular disease as you age.
In addition to providing education about health risks and prevention strategies, we can provide these referrals if you need them:
- Wellness programs
- Preventive care providers
- Specialists
Scheduling & Referrals
We recommend that you schedule your consultation around two months postpartum. You must also get a referral to see our providers. Your referring provider can send a referral when you are admitted for delivery or any time after that.
